Elena Paparizou Dima Bilan


Not one but two Eurovision song Contest winners made it through to the final stage of the MTV Music Awards 2009 in the Best European Act category. Helena Paparizou and Dima Bilan will be fighting it out among 20 other acts for the title until 2nd November.

Voting is now open to choose the best European Act and it will last until 2nd November. The results will be announced during the live show from the 02 World Arena in Berlin on 5th November. This year sees two Eurovision Song Contest winners among the nominees for the MTV Best European Act: Dima Bilan who won the contest in 2008 and Helena Paparizou, winner of the 2005 edition. Dima was nominated again last year for Europe's favourite act and came a tied 4th with Leona Lewis following Shiri Maimon, Israel's representative in 2005, in third place. One more artist familiar to Eurofans in the running is Agnes who represents Sweden. Agnes was one of the Melodifestivalen finalists in 2009.
